Ann Arbor

Last week Dave had the week off so we headed to Ann arbor to explore our soon to be home. Obviously it's still a little early to find a house since we don't move til June but I had never been there and wanted to get a feel for which areas we liked best.  I have heard so many wonderful things about Ann arbor and it was so fun to finally see what it's all about. I fell in love instantly! It is such a beautiful place and the people there seem really nice. It has a good vibe, if that makes sense. I think we are going to love living there. I will admit until now I was feeling some anxiety about moving away but now that I've actually been there I am excited for the adventures we will have. My parents kept our kids for a few days then they flew out and met us for the weekend and we went on the grand tour of Michigan. I had heard it was a beautiful state but I had no idea it was as pretty as it was, especially in the Fall.  I was pleasantly surprised!

Wish I would've taken more pics when we were in Ann Arbor but we really spent most of our time driving around scoping it out. Most of the pictures I did get were through the windshield with my phone camera. I will have to take better pictures next Fall cause it really is beautiful.

eating at a place my friend Cara recommended called Frita Banditos. Have a feeling this will be one of our regulars. Although pretty much every restaurant we went to was good. It was fun to try new stuff.

yummy pumpkin donuts and fresh apple cider from a local farm for breakfast (with an extra shot of insulin for me of course...totally worth it!

Wish I got a better picture but this is the  UofM Kellogg Eye Center where Dave will be working. They just built a brand new building and it is pretty amazing (they spent $121 million, wowza)  We were lucky enough to get a personal tour. He had seen a lot of it already when he interviewed but it was fun for me to see where he will be spending most of his time

I want to live on this street

The Campus is gorgeous. It feels like Oxford (not that I've been to Oxford, but what I would imagine
The Big House

We had to buy some Michigan attire of course, go blue!
