RSV

Well, we ended up back at Primary Children's Hospital for another overnight stay...this time with Nora. She is officially the first case of RSV they have had up there this year (already trying to be a trendsetter I guess)  She had a cough and some congestion for a few days and I just assumed it was a cold. Tuesday night she didn't sleep much and she woke up Wednesday morning with a fever of 101.9 so I called her pediatrician and he sent us up to the hospital right away. They did a whole bunch of tests, they even had to do a lumbar puncture to draw spinal fluid (so sad) and the results showed RSV. Her oxygen levels were low so she had to stay overnight for observation. It was seriously so sad watching her go through all of that. Luckily my cute cousin Michelle works in the ER and was able to be her nurse for awhile. Having her there was a real comfort to me. Nora is home now and is slowly recovering. I can't believe we have been in the hospital with both our girls with two different diseases in the past few weeks. It's frustrating because I have been really careful with hand washing etc. and we have been staying home a lot to avoid germs but yet they still both got sick. Go figure. Let's just hope we can all be healthy from here on out. I don't think I could stand seeing either of them in the hospital again.
