Yesterday was the national Match Day for all med students. It was such a fun day! Dave matched at IMC for his intern year so it looks like we will be staying in Salt Lake City next year before we move to Michigan in 2013. We are thrilled that we get to stay by family for one more year and that we dont have to move twice (moving is a pain). I will admit that Match Day was a little anti-climatic for us since we already knew where we matched for residency (hooray for Ophthalmology early match) and we pretty much already knew he would match here for intern year, but it was so fun seeing where all of our friends matched. We are so excited for everyone and cant wait to hear about all their adventures! I didn't take my camera so forgive the phone pics...
at exactly 10:00 every med student in the country that matched was given a letter telling them where. It was so fun being in the room watching everyone's reactions when they opened their letter. There was an energy you can't explain.
Hooray IMC!!!
Hailey was more entertained by her oranges than anything. She thought we were at a Birthday party and kept asking where the balloons were.
After everyone opened their letters they went up one by one to announce where they were going. Hailey followed her Daddy up and helped him put the pin on the map :)
I am so grateful for these wonderful ladies. Med school would not have been the same without them!!! It's a little bittersweet all of us moving onto residency because I will miss them but I know we will stay in touch. (thanks for sending me the pic Michelle)
