Almost Time!!!

So I went to the Doctor yesterday to check how our little angel is doing. She is measuring big still (yikes for me...ouch) but other than that everything is fine. I bet you're all wondering why she is measuring big and why they moved up my due date. Well, as a lot of you know I have developed Diabetes with this pregnancy. Right now they are not sure if it is Gestational or Type 1 because it has not behaved like normal gestational cases and my family has a history of Type 1. We are praying that it's only gestational which would mean it would go away after I give birth whereas Type 1 would be a permanent thing. We won't know for sure until after she is born. I haven't blogged about it yet but I figure enough people know about it by now so why not. It has definitely been a challenge for me but there are many worse things that could happen and I have had a lot of support from my friends and family, especially my amazing husband. He has seriously been incredible! To treat it I have been following a very low carb diet (pretty much atkins) and taking pills and insulin shots to keep my sugars down. My body has been a little slow to respond to treatment which is not a good sign but I am still keeping my fingers crossed that it will go away. If it doesn't I know it is just a trial that I am meant to face and I know my Heavenly Father will help me through it.

Anyways, enough sappiness from me. The most important thing is our baby girl... the doc said if she doesn't come before the first week of October they will most likely induce me that week which means only 3 & 1/2 weeks max until we get to meet her!!! yay! They have upped me to two non-stress tests a week as well as my weekly check-up with the doc so I will pretty much be living at the hospital the next few weeks. A little tricky since I am still working almost full-time but luckily my job is pretty flexible. I think the non-stress tests are actually fun because I get to see her on ultrasound everytime. I definitely wont complain about getting to see her 2 times a week! Dave has been a little jealous that I get to see her so often and he doesn't. I told him thats my reward for carrying her for 9 months. That's the least I get right?!?! I am getting so excited but a little scared at the same time now that we are in the home stretch. I just want to get her here safe and sound. I will keep you all updated on her progress, whether you want to know or not I guess...

Natalie, It's Katie (Thorne) Taggart. I came across your blog and I just had to write you a little note and tell you that I think you are the most gorgeous pregnant woman. I mean that picture of you below in the red - how do you look so sassy and cute at 9 months pregnant? I swear I am so dang frumpy and I am like 3 weeks behind you! Sorry to hear about your diabetes and everything. I hope you have a smooth rest of your pregnancy and labor and delivery. Good Luck!

Natalie it was so good to see you at Star 21 the other day. You look great and have that beautiful glow that a soon to be mother has!! I didn't realize that you got diabetes when you got pregnant. I hope everything is well. Man girl and that is great that you are on a low carb diet while you are pregnant(not that you really have any other choice, right)! Can't wait to hear the updates!!

I was saddened to hear about the gestational diabetes and possible tyle I diabetes. I'm sure that has been hard to cope with on top of all the other pregnancy things. You never know what you sign up for when you get pregnant, do you? I hope all goes well and the prognosis is good. You are lucky that you don't have to wait much longer to see your little piece of heaven. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday night!
