So a couple of weeks ago something happened that almost gave me a heart attack... I was just going about my business doing one of my clients hair when I stepped on something hard that I could feel through my boots. I looked down and guess what I found... My diamond from my wedding ring!!! I am so so so so so so so lucky that I found it! I had no idea it had even fallen out. My heart was seriously racing when I found it. I had run a bunch of errands earlier that day and could have lost it anywhere! My setting is the Tiffanys setting which has 6 prongs and is supposed to be the strongest you can get but apparently it was not strong enough for me because 3 of my prongs broke off. I guess you are supposed to check your prongs every year or so and since I work with my hands a lot I guess it doesn't surprise me that it came loose. Since Dave bought my ring in California we couldn't really take it back to fix it. Luckily Dave's uncle Troy has a close friend that is a jeweler and he fixed it for me within a day, they did an amazing job (their company is called Passey & Son if anyone needs a good jeweler). Make sure you all get your prongs checked so this doesn't happen to you. I couldn't imagine how I would have felt if I hadn't have stumbled upon my diamond, literally!

You are SOOO lucky that you found it!!!! Originally, I had a four prong setting, but I recently got it changed to a tiffany's six prong setting because I was afraid of this very situation. Its good to know that even with the added security I still need to get it checked every year!!
Holy cow, I have no idea what I would've done. You are so so lucky that you found it! Like you said, there are so many other places it could've been! You must be living right I guess!
Oh my gosh! You are so lucky! AH I would have had a heart attack too!
OOOHHH my goodness!!! I am so glad you found it!! That is scary! Let's run into each other at Cafe Rio again... ;)
Natalie that is so freaky!!! Holy cow you are lucky! I would just die if that happened to me. Definitely will be upgrating from a 4 to a 6 prong now!
wow. good reminder to keep an eye on the ring. that is scary.
I am SO glad you found it! My diamond is a suspension setting, and when I was first engaged, I kept dreaming or imaging that it had fallen out. Did this happen on Monday? Just think, you could have swept it up with someone's hair after a cut!
P.S. I am reading President Hinckley's book too! We must be on the same vibe.
This story makes my palms sweat! I would die if I lost my diamond. So glad everything worked out! So I need another hair cute I've decided, but I'm trying to hold out so that next time I come in I can bring my baby!
Wow--I'm sure you were just SICK about what could have happened. I lost my ring last year while shopping for my kids in Old Navy. It was cold, and when my fingers get cold my ring is pretty lose. I remembered hearing a "ching" like metal hitting concret, but didn't think anything of it. Later that night I realized my ring was gone! I panicked. I remembered that sound I heard while shopping so I called Old Navy and had them look over every nook and cranny on the floor. They found it! It really was a miracle. Why don't men have those problems with their rings? :)
EEk! I can't even imagine losing my diamond. You are so lucky you found it. How is everyting going?
