Mary Ellen Taylor Jackson

Last week my sweet Nana passed away at the age of 91. It was a very bittersweet experience because she wanted to go, yet we will miss her. I am so grateful to know that she is in a better place and has been reunited with my Grandpa and many loved ones. Nana truly was an incredible woman. My goal is to live so one day at my funeral people talk about me the way they did about her. She was truly selfless and gave her all to her family. She was smart and had the wittiest sense of humor, her puns were infamous. Even til the end when her body had all but given up on her, her cute sense of humor was still there. She leaves behind 8 kids, 45 grandkids and her 79th great grandchild was born just hours after her passing. Quite the legacy! A couple weeks ago I was able to take my girls to visit her with my Mom and sister. I had no idea at the time how priceless that visit and the pictures we took would become to me. She was more aware that day than I had seen her in a long time. I am so happy to have that one last memory with her.  I am so grateful for the many years we had with her. She has truly inspired me to be a better person!

Here are pictures from our visit a couple weeks ago.

We love you Nana!
