Hailey had become rather attached to her binkies and blankies for sleeping (I am dreading taking the binkie away). When she wakes up she usually insists on carrying at least 2 (or as many as she can find) of each around the house for awhile.
It must be a phase! Emme's been doing the same thing lately with her blankies. When I go get her from her crib, she quickly bends down and grabs everything in sight that she can carry with her, as if she's saying "you can't have me without all my blankies!" So cute, but I'm also dreading how to "wean" her from it, ha ha!
Danielle carries her blankie around the house but she knows it doesn't leave the house. As for the binky...we took it away the day after she turned 2. I had already weaned her from having them when she wasn't sleeping. I was terrified of taking them away for naps and bedtime! We cut all the nipples off and put them in a bowl. I showed them to her and she played with them for awhile and tried to suck on them. Then bedtime came...she cried for it for like 8 minutes and went to sleep. For about a week she would ask about it and I would show them to her. Eventually she threw them in the garbage. Now if you ask her about them she will tell you they are broken and in the garbage. It was easier than I thought. Good luck...and don't stress! There are definately more important things to worry about.
Hailey and Brynn should form a binkies and blankies club. I have restricted Brynn's binky usage to the crib for naps and bedtime and oh man has it been a battle. I must admit I kind of like how it makes her still seem like a baby when she is growing up way too fast.

How are you going to take the binky away. I want to do it before baby number two, but I am dreading it too. Abby love her binks
